As you may know, I love photographing couples and weddings, but engagement photos might be my favourite (ok weddings might be my absolute favourite because of the sentiments and gorgeous wedding details)!

Intimacy
Wedding days can be so hectic, and even though you’ll likely take bride and groom photos, there’s so many things happening that day (and maybe a little lot of booze??) that you may not remember it. In an engagement photoshoot, it’s ALL ABOUT YOU. You’re dressed up, you’ve got an amazing ring on your finger and I’m here to be your professional third wheel and capture your love story. Think of it as a special fancy date. Just you and your special someone. You can be intimate, you can be silly. It’s a day to celebrate your love, without the hustle and bustle of wedding day.

Photos for Invitations
You may be printing and mailing invitations, or you have an evite. Maybe you have a wedding website. In any situation, it’s so nice to have high quality photos of you two in love (with the engagement ring too!) and preface everyone for your big day. Your friends and family will love seeing these too (think aunties and Whatsapp). It’s also a great way to make the big announcement on your socials!

Get to know your Photographer
This is a great chance for you to get to know your photographer! If you haven’t been photographed professionally before and are a bit camera shy, this is a great way for you to get used to being photographed, for you to understand how your photographer works, and to address any issues you may have with your photographer. At the end of the day, you’ll get a set of beautiful photos AND you’ll be more pumped to see your wedding day photos.

Just Because
So many people don’t have high quality photos with their significant others. With the increasingly powerful built-in cameras in cell phones, so many people only have a few selfies or phone photos with their S.O., and these are almost never printed. You can schedule a couples session while you’re dating but so many people don’t! Having beautiful engagement photos is a great way to make time and create these dreamy photos with your partner for your own keepsake purposes. Print them, frame them, and make them a part of your home together.
